Ice therapy is the cheapest, easiest way to start. Cubed or crushed in a freezer bag and wrapped in a towel. Lie down or sit back with it placed at the base of the skull to the top of the shoulders, 20 minutes on and about 10 off for several repetitions. If that doesn't work, try an over-the-counter pain reliever. If that doesn't do it, consider a 30 minute massage session with an able therapist. The areas worked should be the shoulders from the blades to the top, neck and scalp.
