How to get a guy to notice you?

He sits at a different table I really like him. He is a cool kid though and his friends know me and don't want to look stupid. And one day I was trying to get the attention of Lia (a girl across from him) and I waved trying to get her and he was like waving at me and he stares all the time and his friend Brendon stares at me too and so does his other friend Nate. So how do I get him to notice me and get him to ask me out? I am in 8th grade btw.
